YENG Guiao doesn't mind taking a risk on injured big man Luis Villegas as the no. 3 top overall pick in PBA Season 48 draft.
He believes after all, the former University of the East stalwart is worth the wait.
"We trust him enough na willing kaming maghintay. We believe in his ability. And also, he's a high character guy," said Guiao of Villegas shortly after the draft proceedings at the Market! Market! Ayala Malls in Taguig on Sunday.
Villegas, 26, is currently recovering from ACL surgery after going down with the injury while playing for TNT in the PBA 3x3.
The stint with the Tropang Giga however, along with his one-and-done stay with the Warriors in the UAAP were more than enough to convince Guiao and his coaching staff the Fil-Am forward is deserving of his status in the draft considered the biggest in the history of the league.
